    • On December 16, 1874, Eliza married Lemuel Truitt in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and James Lester. Eliza and Lemuel made their home in Noble, Illinois. Their household included Eliza's ten year old sone, Joseph William and Lemuel's son Columbus. After Sarah died, Eliza too upon the responsibility of reaising her granddaugher, Lillie May Lester. Lemuel had helped establish the town of Noble as noted in the county records, "In September 1853, on the petition of Lemuel Truitt, Noble Precinct was formed ..." By the 1860 Census, he had accumulated a land value of $6,000.00.
      Lemuel Truitt died on January 30, 1889. He is buried in the Noble cemetery. When Eliza died, she left her house to Lille May Lester. All of Lille May's children were born there.
